A. Simple past
- digunakan untuk menggambarkan aksi lampau yg sudah selesai

- digunakan untuk menjelaskan aksi lampau yang panjang diinterupsi oleh aksi lampau yang pendek;
- digunakan untuk menjabarkan dua aksi yg panjang yang terjadi secara bersamaan di waktu lampau.

Ketika menggunakan konjungsi "when, while, as", pada umumnya, aksi yang sifatnya singkat menggunakan kata kerja bentuk "Simple past." Sedangkan, kata kerja yg berbentuk "Verb-ing" merupakan aksi yang lama atau aksi yg berlangsung dahulu sebelum aksi singkat menginterupsi.
